ABOUT
The Vision
Joannie Corriveau is a self-taught web designer who began learning to code and design over five years ago. Through years of experimentation, she designed numerous websites for her abundant creative ideas—many unpublished. Her countless hours spent in this process allowed her to develop a style that is uniquely her own and blends diverse aesthetics. She likes to "play Jazz" when designing, improvising as she goes if minimal direction is given. This playful approach enables her to create designs that are original, intuitive, and lively.
Of mixed French and Algonkin descent, Joannie is a proud Bois-brûlée from Tiohtià:ke/Moonyang (Montreal).
She is the first person seeking to reindigenize her lineage following the last three generations before her.
Joannie is also the first woman in her maternal family line to pursue higher education through University studies.
She recently got accepted into the bachelor of Native Studies program at the University of Alberta with a focus on Nehiyawewin (Cree language).
Her desire in the future is to contribute to the revitalization of the Algonkin language and become an international indigenous rights advocate.
